Using the Chrome Extension (Instagram Claims and Adding Creators)

Discover how the Chrome extension helps you claim your Instagram profile and add the creators.

Written by Rosemary Haddad

Use the Chrome extension to claim your profile if you're on Instagram, or to add creators if you're on a Business plan. Want to claim your profile with TikTok, YouTube, X or LinkedIn? Follow How to Claim Your Favikon Profile instead. It's the quickest way.

Before You Start

You'll need a computer (PC or Mac) with Google Chrome, a public social media profile, and a Favikon account.

Install the Extension

  • Business Plan: Go to Settings → Connections and click Install Extension.

  • Creator Plan: Go to Account Settings → Account, scroll down and click Install Extension.

Claim Your Profile

  1. Open your own profile page on Instagram (not the feed).

  2. Click the extension icon and wait a few seconds for it to load your profile.

  3. Paste your API key. You'll find it in your Favikon account under Settings → Connections.

  4. Click Claim My Profile, then Start.

  5. Go back to your Favikon dashboard and click Start. Your verified profile will now appear in your account.

Don't See the Claim Button?
Open Chrome Settings → Manage Extensions → Details and make sure site access permissions are turned on. Then refresh your profile page and try again.
